Polymers contg. units of formula (I): (where Y is 2-20C divalent hydrocarbon group which is free of unsatn. other than aromatic, a 2-10C divalent mono- or bis-heterocyclic group or a 4-20C divalent hydrocarbon group comprising several groups as defined above, linked by O, S, CO or SO2), are esp. used for prodn. of films or laminates from fibrous (non)woven substrates. Polymers contg. units of formula (I) and (II) are solids of m.pt. 50-250 degrees C, and give resins by heating at 150-300 degrees C. They may also be used for prodn. of laminates as well as mouldings.
