<p>An electrostatic precipitator unit incorporates a set of vertical conductor wires at high potential, between a set of vertical collector plates. Each row of wires between a pair of plates is suspended from a cross piece, and all the cross pieces are suspended from a distributor arm by rods (31) passing through insulators on the top of the housing. Vibrators are mounted on the top of the rods. Each rod passes through a protective ring (37) and a sealing chamber (47) is mounted around the top of the rod, under the ring. Mounted around each rod, in the central region of the chamber is a set of radial toothed wires, consisting of concentric sets (51, 52, 53). These have the effect of exciting the ions in the molecules of liquid inside the chamber, causing a circulation, and preventing an accumulation around the rods.</p> |
