The thermostatically controlled mixer valve has a manual setting for proportion of hot and cold water, and for total outflow rate. It incorporates an adjustable valve with a swashplate and thermostat. A ring plate (3) lies inside a rotatable sleeve, and is attached by a pair of radial rods (4) allowing it to rotate to any position inclined to the sleeve plane. Inside the ring (3) is a swashplate (5), through which is fitted a bolt perpendicular to the radial rods, but offset from the swashplate centreline. This provides an universal joint. There are push rods (9, 10) bearing on the swashplate underside and an upper manually-controlled plunger is used to depress the swashplate into an inclined position.
