A thread guiding and feeding arrangement is designed for textile machines of great height in which continuous synthetic filaments drawn from a supply package are delivered to >=1 vertical processing unit, and run through to the lower zone of the machine to be passed on to a winding station. At the end of the machine, a derrick pivots vertically on a shaft at a fixed point on the frame and carries two pressure rollers for two feeders positioned some distance apart. The connecting lines between the pivot point and the rollers form a triangle, whilst the derrick also is laid out as an obtuse isosceles triangle. The free end of the one leg forms the pivoting point, and the free end of the other carrier the roller of the first feeder; the pressure roller of the second feeder being arranged on an extension from the obtuse angle between the two legs. The pressure rollers of the upper yarn feeders can be brought within easy reach of the operatives for the thread to be slung around them, returned and locked in position. Machines with a height of 4m. and ends running straight through the processing zone, can be threaded without any further equipment.
|
