<p>Prophylactic tooth cleansing prepn. which contains an aq. soln. of NH4 or Li fluosilicate in such amt. as to provide 0.5% by wt. of F; finely divided silica abrasive with 95% passing 0.074 mm mesh; additional phosphate ion to 0.05-0.5M; inert thickener e.g. hydroxyethylcellulose. The wt. of silica must be less than 3 times the wt. of the soln. The consistency as measured by the ASTM method D 217 at 20 deg. under a load of 82.5 g is 25-35; the pH is 2.5-5.5. Prophylaxis of dental caries.</p> |
