<p>The application is to small chokes and transformers in quantity production. The coil is wound on a former (22) on which are placed two insulation strips (14). These may be of presspahn or similar material and are suitably cut and folded. After winding on the requisite turns the free sides of the insulation are folded over the coil and held down using an adhesive. The shaped ends (21) of the strips are formed around the outside of the coil ends. After removing the former, moulded cases are placed over the coil ends. These cases extend over the side insulation for a short distance to complete the enclosure, and also carry the coil terminals.</p> |
