In mfg. panes of insulating glass or an insulating glass window, using two or more single panes of glass sepd. by a space, single panes of float-glass with different characteristic surface deformations are combined together. Before cutting the individual panes to size, the float glass is pref. measured w.r.t. its dioptric properties and pairs of glass panes selected in which the ratio, per unit of length, of the number of positive and negative maxima or the refractive powers, is not equal to unity, and is pref. >1.1 or 0.9. In assembling the panes, the characteristic, strip-shaped dioptric defects (float-distortions) are pref. located parallel to each other, alternatively the distortions may be located at 90 degrees to each other. The occurrence of interference phenomena is either reduced or completely prevented.
|
