<p>Nuclear power station is equipped with air condensers installed at the apices of a regular polygon and contg. equipment for producing electricity from steam supplied by the nuclear boilers which with their annexes are installed in the central space between the air condensers. The air condensers and boilers are esp. arranged in modular groups of two, the internal equipment in the condenser being placed on the radii passing through the boilers. The annexes are grouped in the quadrilateral formed by the boilers and air condensers. Arrangement eliminates the need for large sources of cooling water so that the nuclear power stations can be installed in remote, thinly populated regions free from other industries.</p> |
