Tensile testing machine investigating deformation and strain - measures elongation over whole length of test piece

A tensile testing machine uses a method whereby measurement begins at a certain reference load at which deformation of the machine itself are negligible, so that machine influences are approx. constant, as at the tensile strength test end. On the other hand the load exceeds the elastic limit of the test piece. The machine incorporates a device to measure the elongation of the test piece. An indicator is automatically operated when the reference load is reached, and is cut out when the test piece breaks.
