Mesh gasket for cylinder head of engine which has parallel-axis cylinder bores (2) formed in the end of a revolving drum (1) and a single stationary combustion chamber located in the cylinder head. In the end wall of the drum surrounding each cylinder bore with radial spacing is a groove for a sealing ring (4). Between every two adjacent sealing rings are two or more peripherally extending sealing strips (9, 10) with their sealing surfaces located in the same plane as those of the sealing rings, but with a height less than that of the sealing rings. The sealing strips may be arranged in pairs with an oil way between them, and the centres of the imaginary circles they describe may not coincide with the axis of the drum. The gap defined by the sealing strips may converge in a direction opposite the direction of rotation of the drum.
