摘要 1524138 Ignition systems K YAMAKAWA 3 Aug 1976 [9 Aug 1975] 32379/76 Heading F1B An ignition device 10 for an I.C. engine includes a fixed electrode 25 in the cylinder 1 and a movable electrode 13 on a rod 11 moved by the piston 2 so that the electrodes are initially brought into contact to complete an electric circuit comprising a D.C. source 31 and an inductance 32 and then, with further upward movement of the piston toward T.D.C., the electrodes are moved apart to break the circuit and a spark is produced. A further spark is produced as the rod is pushed down by a spring 21 when the piston descends. As shown, the movable electrode 13 is a split ring, and the fixed electrode is an annulus embedded in an insulator sleeve 23. The rod 11 slides in a support 15 formed with projections 17 extending through slots in the rod 11 to prevent rotation, and to limit reciprocation, thereof. Slots (26), Fig. 2b, (not shown), may be formed in the sleeve 23 to facilitate gas flow around the electrodes. Again, Figs. 3a and 3b, (not shown), the movable electrode may be formed of three arcuate members individually attached to rod (11). Also Fig. 4, (not shown), the rod may carry a cup-shaped body on the inside of which the electrode 13 is carried for contact with an annular fixed electrode (25a) embedded in the external surface of the insulator sleeve 23. Automatic advance may be effected by providing an auxiliary fixed annular electorde (25'), Fig. 5, (not shown), switched in when the engine speed exceeds a predetermined value. A number of ignition devices may be connected in parallel in a multi-cylinder engine.
