1464349 Refractory composition MAGNESITAL-FEUERFEST GmbH 26 March 1975 [28 March 1974] 12749/75 Heading C1J A refractory composition for lining tap spouts and stack flues in blast furnaces comprises (on a dry basis) (i) 20-60 wt. per cent pyrophyllite, (ii) 5-30 wt. per cent silicon carbide, (iii) 5-20 wt. per cent plastic clay (hydrated Al 2 O 3 .SiO 2 ), e.g. ball clay, (iv) 5-25 wt. per cent quartzite and (v) 5-15 wt. per cent carbonaceous binding agent of fusion point 110‹-200‹ C., e.g. tar, resin, hard pitch. The composition may have 5-10 wt. per cent water added thereto (based on the dry composition). Preferred particle sizes are (mm.); (i) up to 6, (ii) up to 1, (iii) up to 0À5, (iv) 3-8 and (v) up to 0À5. |
