PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, processor and a computer readable medium in which image processing can be carried out under an appropriate processing load depending on the situation. SOLUTION: A user situation recognizing section 110 grasps the utilization situation of application of a user and designates a recognition image data take- out section 106 to select required image data. Wavelet converting sections 104a-c take out a plurality of kinds of image data represented with different resolutions from intermediate processing results. From the plurality of kinds of image data, image data corresponding to the utilization situation of application of the user is selected as an object to be processed at a face region recognizing section 107. More specifically, a low resolution image is selected when a decision is made that the user is utilizing a two-away awareness function whereas a high resolution image is selected when a decision is made that the user is utilizing a conference function.
