1463463 Locking slider for sliding clasp fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 30 Jan 1975 [7 Feb 1974] 4077/75 Heading E2S In a sliding clasp fastener, of the kind comprising a pull tab 11, a body 10 and a locking means, the body including top and bottom wings 14, 15 interconnected by a web 16, the locking means comprises a locking leaf spring 17 generally arranged longitudinally over the top wing 14 and including a neck portion 20 directly overlying the top wing the neck portion 20 being connected to a fold 21 via at least one curved portion 22 at one end of the spring which end is arranged at the front end of the slider body 10 the fold 21 being held in parallel spaced relationship to said neck portion, a pair of arms 23 extending downwardly from both lateral edges of said fold 21 into abutting contact with said top wing 14, a pair of flanges 24 projecting laterally outwardly from parts of the bottom edges of said arms respectively and a pair of spring retainers 18 on the top wing being adapted to engage said respective flanges 24 of said arms 23 and hence to retain the locking leaf spring 17 on the slider body 10. The locking means also essentially includes a locking pawl 26 at the other end of the leaf spring which normally projects into the guide channel in the slider body through an aperture 27 formed in the top wing, a raised portion 28, between the neck portion 20 and the locking pawl 26, and which is adapted to be surrounded by the pull tab in such a manner that, when a pull is exerted on the pull tab the leaf spring is generally raised away from the slider body whereby the locking pawl retracts away from the guide channel in the slider body. A further essential feature comprises stop means which is adapted to limit the retracting motion of the locking pawl 26 away from the guide channel, the stop means including a stop 19 which projects upwardly from the top wing 14 and which is relatively loosely received in an aperture 25 formed in said locking leaf spring adjacent the other end thereof. The pull tab includes a relatively flat pin 29 which is connected between the bifurcated end 30, 30 of the tab. |
