1463596 Transferring designs on to resincoated surfaces SUBLISTATIC HOLDING SA 23 May 1974 [24 May 1973] 23121/74 Heading B6C [Also in Division B2] Metallic or other rigid non-metallic substrates are printed or dyed by providing an epoxy resin containing surface on the substrate, contacting with vaporizable or sublimable dyestuffs carried on a temporary support, heating and removing the temporary support. The substrate may for example be metal, ceramic, wood or glass; the epoxy resin layer may be transparent or opaque with a single colour pigment. In another embodiment, the epoxy resin is not cured, and the curing agent is incorporated with the dyestuff on the temporary support. The substrate with its epoxy resin layer and the temporary support are heated together at temperatures of 140 to 300‹ C. between heated dies, or in the case of printing on a wooden substrate, by using a hot air gun while holding the temporary support in position with a roller. |
