<p>A touch sensitive switching apparatus (10, 12) for controlling the operation of an electrical load (16A, 16B, 16C) is disclosed. The apparatus (10, 12) includes a programmable controller (12) and a touch sensor assembly (10). The controller (12) is connected to the electrical load (16A, 16B, 16C) and is programmable to provide a repeatable sequence to operate the load wherein each step of the sequence is initiated by touching two contact surfaces (42, 44) of the touch sensor assembly (10). The controller (12) can also be configured to duplicate a momentary switch wherein the load (16A, 16B, 16C) is energized as long as the contact surfaces (42, 44) of the touch sensor assembly (10) are connected. The touch sensor assembly (10) can be mounted in a wall panel (18). The assembly (12) includes a conductive housing (20) with a conductive rod (24) positioned therein. A first fastener (100) secures the rod (24) within the housing (20), while a second fastener (108) secures the assembly (10) to the wall panel (18).</p> |
