摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic circuit which can be constituted by a simple circuit, can drive an element by AC without using a special AC power source, and is made longer in its life and lower in its manufacturing cost, a method for driving the electronic circuit, an electrooptical device, a method for driving the electrooptical device, and an electronic equipment. <P>SOLUTION: Each unit circuit is equipped with a transistor (TR) Qs, an organic EL element 31 connected thereto, and a holding capacitor Cp for a reverse bias. The terminal (b) of the holding capacitor Cp is connected to the same scanning line (one of Y1 to Ym) as the gate of the corresponding TR Qs. The signals sequentially applied to the scanning line include voltages GND, Vg 1 and -Vg 2 and the organic EL element 31 is driven by the AC voltages of these three levels. When the TR Qs turns on in each selection period when the voltage Vg 1 is applied to the scanning line, the organic EL element is biased in a forward direction to emit light.
