The present invention concerns the high speed packaging of folded paper articles such as tissues, napkins and the like, and more precisely it concerns an apparatus for continuously feeding such articles, arranged in stacked groups(P, P1) coming from folding machines, towards packaging machines, for example with a rotating drum, arranged downstream.

1. An apparatus for feeding articles such as tissues or similar folded paper products to an automatic packaging system, the apparatus comprising means for forming stacks of articles with at least two collecting discs defining an axial direction (X) and a radial direction (Z); an accumulation plate adapted to receive and support the articles unloaded from said collecting discs; for each pair of collecting discs a stack separation and expulsion device adapted to eject the stacks over said plate in the radial direction (Z) by movably entering between the discs and engaging with the stacks; and an evacuation device for evacuating from the plate along an axial direction the stacks previously ejected from the discs, wherein said at least one stack separation and expulsion device comprises conveyor means arranged below said plate, following a ring-like path with a segment that runs radially over a plane parallel and adjacent with the plane of the plate; and wherein seizing tabs extend from said expulsion conveyor means adapted to engage with said stacks passing through channels formed in the plate and projecting orthogonally from the same plate.
