a first wireless communications device containing a processor, a memory, and a radio having at least one receiver and at least one transmitter, the first device configured to: receive, through the at least one receiver, a communication from a second wireless communications device, the communication comprising information defining a bandwidth of a data portion of the communication, the bandwidth consisting of a quantity of 20 MHz channels; wherein the bandwidth is to be indicated in a bit map in a SIG field of a preamble of the communication.
