PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having high sensitivity, imparting high density and having high color developing start temp. by using specific 1,2-diphenoxybenzene in the thermal recording material as a sensitizer. CONSTITUTION:In this thermal recording material, a recording layer containing a fluorane type black dye and the coupler reacting with the dye at the time of heating to form a color is provided on a support and 1, 2-diphenoxyhenzene represented by formula is contained therein. For example, this compound is obtained by reacting 1,2-dihalogenated benzene with an alkali metal salt of a phenol compound at 160-260 deg.C in the presence of a copper powder or copper compound catalyst. At this time, when an aprotic polar solvent is used as a reaction promotor also used as a solvent, yield is further enhanced and a reaction time can be shortened. As the aprotic polar solvent to be used, pyridine, picoline or piperidine are designated, 1,2-diphenoxybenzene has a m.p. of 92-94 deg.C and used in the thermal recording material to make it possible to obtain a recording image having high sensitivity, high density and high color developing start temp. |
