1,223,533. Transporting immiscible fluids through pipelines. WILLIAMS BROS. PIPE LINE CO. 13 June, 1969 [4 Oct., 1968], No. 30156/69. Heading F2N. The spread of an interface between two immiscible fluids during sequential transportation along a pipeline is reduced by controlling the flowrate of the fluids so that they remain in sequence in the pipeline, and injecting upstream of, and through, the interface an emulsion-producing detergent. A pig or cup-andbrush scraper may be used at each end of the emulsion zone.
|
