1306741 Multicolour photography A E STALEY MFG CO 5 Feb 1970 [5 Feb 1969 16 June 1969 12 Aug 1969] 2224/70 Heading G2C Multicolour images are prepared by coating a substrate bearing an image of a first colour with a solid light-sensitive organic layer and then exposing and developing, according to the process of Specification 1296709 with a powder of a second colour. Preferably, the first colour image is also prepared by the process of Specification 1296709, and further images may also be formed similarly optionally after removing the light-sensitive layer used to prepare the previous image. The images may be fixed by imbibing dye from the powder into the substrate or into a carrier (applied as part of the powder) which is simultaneously fixed to the substrate. The first colour image may be protected during the application of the light-sensitive layer by hardening the latter or by overcoating with "an isolating layer". The multi-colour images may be used as colour printing proofs.
