Fibrous materials such as polyesters, cellulose tri-acetate, cellulose -2 1/2-acetate, polyacrylonitrile, polyamides and polyurethanes, are dyed from water immiscible solvents, suitably tetrachlorethylene, trichlorethylene, 1:1:1-trichlorethane and 1:1:1-trichlorpropane or mixtures thereof, with dispersion dyes contg. sulphonamide gps. esp. 1-3 sulphonamide gps. and esp. mono- and disazo, anthraquinone, N-methylanthrapyridone, phthaloylacridone, nitro, quinophthalone and naphthoylene benzimidazole dyes contg. sulphonamide gps.
