title: VALVE COVER A valve cover for lockingly enclosing the handle of a pipe line valve, to prevent unauthorized actuation thereof. The cover includes first and second cups, each defining a semicylindrical body, with one wall of each cup having an intermediate notch opening into said mouth, for through passage of the handle threaded axle when the valve cover is closed. The cups are edgewisely pivotally interconnected at a first end thereof by a hinge for pivotal motion between an open position, where the mouths thereof are substantially coplanar, and a closed position, where the valve cover is cylindrical and the cup mouths open into each other. The hinge includes a pair of outwardly extending ears, anchored to the first end of the first cup and opening in the opposite direction of that cup's mouth, and a shaft, carried by two opposite ears anchored to the first end of the second cup, the shaft being rotatably engaged into the hook's cavity through thicknesswise grooves made in the inside walls of the hinge ears. These grooves extend orthogonally to the corresponding cup mouth, and open in a direction opposite thereof. The opposite second ends of the cups carry corresponding male and female locks which can be interlocked by up to three different padlocks. The shaft cannot be removed from the hook, except when the cups are completely opened.
