PURPOSE:To prevent background fog from occurring under a high temp. and high humidity condition by using a specific monoether compound as a coupler and containing a specific p-hydroxybenzoate compound as a sensitizer. CONSTITUTION:A colorless - light-colored basic dye and a monoether compound of 4, 4'-bisphenolsulfone represented by formula [I] (wherein R1 is an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group which may have a substituent) being a coupler capable of forming a color upon the contact with the basic dye are used and a p-hydroxybenzoate compound represented by formula [II] (wherein R2 - R4 are respectively a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group which may have a substituent, an alkoxyl group or an aralkyl group and may be mutually bonded to form an aromatic ring and n is an integer of 1 - 10) is contained as a sensitizer. As an embodiment of the monoether compound, 4-hydroxy-4'-methoxydiphenylsulfone is designated. |
