A hoof protection for horses made of a thermoplastic elastomer which is capable of improving the hoof properties so that the hoof can produce best performances on surfaces of different composition, which offers increased resistance to wear and which is provided with a removable cover plate for the sole of the hoof, has a fitting in the form of a band which adapts to the contours of the horny capsule, the rear ends being interconnected by a connecting web (21) at the level of the horn-shaped buttresses (16) of the hoof in such a manner that the band is continuous and has the shape of a ring, and a closing plate (31) which can be inserted into and removed from the fitting, it being envisaged that the support planes on the bottom of the band and the closing plate engage in one another, that on both hoof protection parts relief-type shapes are formed in zones separated by interruptions, these shapes extending essentially in their entire length approximately parallel to the edges of the band of the closing plate. <IMAGE> |
