<p>PURPOSE:To attain current measurement at multipoints simultaneously at low cost by short-circuiting both terminals of the metal jacket of an optical fiber coil for measurement electrically and connecting the optical fiber for measurement to a measuring instrument. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber coil B for measurement is composed of a metal-coated optical fiber coil 5 formed by winding an optical fiber 4 having a metal jacket around an iron core 3 in a coil shape, and arranged surrounding the power line 8, and both the terminal of the metal jacket are short-circuited electrically by a connection lead wire 4a. A reference optical fiber coil A and the optical fiber coil B for measurement are connected in series to constitute one couple of coils for measurement, which are connected to the temperature measuring instrument 6. Then an induced current and an overcurrent flow to the metal jacket of the metal-coated optical fiber with a current flowing through the power line 8, the metal-coated optical fiber 4 rises in temperature, and the measuring instrument finds the current of the power line from the temperature rise. Consequently, currents at many positions can be measured all together at low cost.</p> |
