A thermosensitive recording medium comprising a support and a thermosensitive recording layer, wherein the thermosensitive recording layer contains a leuco dye and a colorant, and wherein the leuco dye is in the form of composite particles containing the leuco dye and a hydrophobic resin while the colorant contains at least 4,4'-cyclohexylidenediphenol and 4,4'-bis(N-p-tolylsulfonylaminocarbonylamino)diphenylmethane.
