PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time necessary for data communication and to reduce power consumption in communication using an optical signal.SOLUTION: An electronic watch 20 comprises: a solar battery 201 for receiving an optical signal from another electronic apparatus; and a control circuit 202 that detects, at a prescribed frequency, the optical signal received by the solar battery 201, receives a synchronization signal in the optical signal increasing the frequency in steps after that, and receives data on the optical signal at a frequency higher than a frequency at which the synchronization signal was received after that.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
