Natural rubber or a synthetic polymer or copolymer of an olefin, the polymer or copolymer containing hydroxy groups if desired is cured at 200 to 500‹F. for from a few minutes to several hours in the presence of an organic peroxide and polyisocyanate. Specified polymers include polybutadiene, butadiene-styrene copolymer, polyethylene, polypropylen, polybutene, ethylenepropylene copolymer and copolymers of conjugated dienes with isobutylene, styrene, p-methostyrene, vinyl naphthalene, vinyltoluene, 2-vinylpyridine, 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine, acrylic and alkacrylic acid esters, methylvinyl ether, vinylchloride and vinylidene chloride, long lists of isocyanates and peroxides are given. The usual compounding ingredients may be present. |
