1,171,375. Washing bottles; endless conveyers. HOLSTEIN & KAPPERT MASCHINENFABRIK PHOENIX G.m.b.H. 31 Oct., 1967 [14 Dec., 1966], No. 49304/67. Headings B8A and B8T. To enable carriers 4, for bottle holders 5, suspended between conveyer chains 1 in a bottle washing machine, to abut when passing through reversing stations or over sprockets (shown schematically at 2 and 3), the sides of the carriers 4 each comprise sections 7 and 9, with sections 7 parallel to radii 8 of the arcs formed by the path of the chains as they pass around the sprockets 2 and 3. If the carrier has a large span, the mutual support provided by adjacent carriers prevents sagging when the axis 10 is horizontal. To keep the same stress level across the span of the carrier the sides are made progressively longer from the ends to the centre, Fig. 4 (not shown). |
