PURPOSE:To obtain corrosion-resisting magnetic metal powder that has a larger magnetic property by oxidizing the surface of metal powder composed of principally Fe; and limiting the saturation magnetization to a particular range. CONSTITUTION:After dehydration treatment is given to needle-shaped alpha-Fe2O3 containing a small amount of one or more kinds of Cr, Co, Ni, P, etc., it is reduced by hydrogen in a H2 gas current. If the Fe metal powder is soaked in, for instance, ethyl alcohol, and the surface of the metal powder is oxidized while sending the air into the alcohol, before being dried completely, the powder of which the saturation magnetization is limited to a range from 70-100emu/g can be obtained. On doing this, superior corrosion-resisting magnetic metal powder composed of mainly Fe that has a larger magnetic property is obtained. |
