<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate bendings and bending losses, by reshaping the welded part of a lead line into one of a large diameter when an Mo or W chip welded with a Cu lead line to form a slug lead. CONSTITUTION:When slug lead 3 is formed by welding chip1, made of Mo or W, with Cu lead line 2, the diameter of the welded part of lead line 2 is enlarged by applying pressure, that is, when welding is done by electric resistance heating, about 4mm of their end parts are fitted together and pressure is applied in the axial direction. Thus, first, crystal grains are made coarse and extremely softened. This is compressed under this condition into a length of 2mm and at the same time this is expanded in the direction of diameter and thereby its diameter is increased. By this, when this is used for a glass-sealed type diode, no bedings and bending losses occur.</p> |
