PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of an optical pickup device by attaching a uniaxial crystal plate to a supporter which supports a photodetecting element having plural photodetecting faces in such a way where the crystal plate is set opposite with tilt to each photodetecting face of the photodetecting element. CONSTITUTION:A photodetector 7 is provided with a photodetecting element 8 having plural photodetecting faces, a supporter for the element 8, and a uniaxial crystal plate 9 which is set opposite with tilt to each photodetecting face of the element 8. Therefore the incident luminous flux condensed on the element 8 is deflected by the plate 9 attached to the supporter for the element 8 in terms of the traveling direction of the luminous flux in response to the deflecting direction. At the same time, the luminous flux produces the astigmatism according to its focusing state. Thus it is possible to obtain a read signal which reads the information signal written on a magneto-optical disk, a focus error signal which shows the focus error value of the luminous flux incident on the signal recording surface of the disk, etc. In such a constitution, an optical pickup device is easily assembled and manufactured in a simple constitution. |
