<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the over flow of cells into a network and to prevent the cells from being abandonned in the network by executing flow control while interlocking the network and terminals. CONSTITUTION:A wide band ISDN exchange terminal (B-TE) 1a is connected through a subscriber line interface 3a to two ATM exchange nodes 2a and 2b forming a wide band ISDN network, and further connected through a subscriber line interface 3b to a B-TE 1b at a reception destination. The wide band exchange network presents transmission service due to fixed bit rate transmission, transmission service due to variable bit rate transmission and transmission service combining the fixed bit rate transmission and the variable bit rate transmission for users. Further, the user declares the transmission speed of these service to the wide band exchange network, and flow control is executed based on the transmission speed agreed and registered to the wide band exchange network. Thus, over cells do not flow into the network.</p> |
