PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To naturally reproduce even a color image that has high chroma saturation. SOLUTION: A 1st lightness calculation part 32 finds the 1st lightness value L*i1 , based on an input color and the lightness ranges of input and output systems. A 2nd lightness calculation part 33 calculates the 2nd lightness value L*i2 based on the input color, the lightness ranges of input and output systems, the lightness of the color that has the same hue as the input color and has the highest chroma saturation in the input system and the lightness of the color that has the same hue as the input color and has the highest chroma saturation in the output system. A saturation ratio calculation part 34 calculates a saturation ratio (h). based on the RGB value, etc., of the input color. Then a lightness control part 35 sets the lightness L*i , between the 1st and 2nd lightness value in response to the saturation ratio (h). |
