PURPOSE:To enhance powder fluidity, environmental independency, and durability by adding fine silica particles having surface treated with a quaternary ammonium salt substantially insoluble or hardly soluble in water to the toner particles. CONSTITUTION:The fine silica particles having surface treated with the quaternary ammonium salt substantially insoluble or hardly soluble in water are added to the toner particles. To be substantially insoluble or hardly soluble in water means that when water as much as 10 times the salt is added to the salt, cloudiness occurs and when it is filtered through a 0.1mum membranous filter, the salt remaining on the filter amounts to >=90wt.%, thus permitting the environmental independency and durability to be enhanced without impairing the powder fluidity of the toner. |
