System for processing patient medical data

A system is described for assisting in the interpretation of medical images by making available information derived from other tests such as in vitro testing. In a preferred embodiment, an in vitro diagnostic testing device is integrated with a scanner such as a CT scanner, MRI scanner or a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) device so that both types of data can be simultaneously acquired and presented to the diagnosing physician.
