PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a liquid-cooled jacket that has high thermal conductivity and deformation resistance and can be made compact.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a liquid-cooled jacket includes: a preparation process of forming a column end face 12a of a column 12 at the same height position as a peripheral wall end face 11a of a peripheral wall part 11; a mounting process of mounting a sealing body 3 on a jacket body 2; a first primary joining process of carrying out frictional agitation by making one round of a rotary tool F for primary joining for a first superposition part J1 where the peripheral wall end face 11a of the peripheral wall part 11 and a reverse surface 3b of the sealing body 3 are superposed one over the other; and a second primary joining process of carrying out frictional agitation for a second superposition part J2 where the column end face 12a of the column 12 and the reverse surface 3b of the sealing body 3 are superposed one over the other while inserting the rotary tool F for primary joining from the reverse surface 3a of the sealing body 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
