PURPOSE:To attach only diatoms suitable as feed of larvae of ear shell, etc., to an attaching plate in a short period of time by providing a culture tank, a culture solution, a carrier for attaching diatoms and a fluidizing device having specific actions. CONSTITUTION:A granular plastic carrier 3 for attaching diatoms is packed into a carrier holding chamber 6. Then, a culture solution 2 such as sea water and seed diatoms are supplied from a feed opening 8 of culture solution to the chamber, air is sent from a gas feed opening 5 to the culture solution, a liquid flow is made and the culture solution 2 is circulated. Consequently, diatoms are attached to the surface of the carrier 3 and multiplied in a short period of time. Then air is strongly blown from nozzles 10, diatoms are released, separated from the carrier by a net at a lower wall 6b of the carrier holding chamber. Then the separated diatoms together with the culture solution 2 are discharged form an output port 11 and harvested. Then the diatoms are attached to an attaching plate for feeding larvae. Therefore, admixture of organisms except diatom can be prevent and only diatoms can be cultured in a large amount. Accordingly, breeding of larvae is readily controlled. |
