1443767 Shrink fitting ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 14 Dec 1973 [19 Dec 1972] 57962/73 Heading B3V Wheels, gears, clutch parts &c. 1 are mounted on an axle 3 by shrinking a sleeve 2 into the bore of the wheel &c. hub and then shrinking the assembly thus obtained on to the axle, the sleeve 2 being of a softer material than the wheel seating of the axle. The difference in hardness is to prevent cold welding of the sleeve on to the axle, so that the assembly of wheel and sleeve may be removed by pressurized air introduced into an annular groove 5 in the axle through a passage 4 in the sleeve 2. The hardness of the hub may differ from that of the sleeve. |
