METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLING CYLINDRICAL STEEL PLATE CELL

PURPOSE:To assemble a cylindrical metallic plate cell safely at a low cost by supporting metallic plates from the lower side in such a way that the plates deflect in vertical directions by gravity at prescribed curvature to form segmental pieces of prescribed shapes and butting and joining the segmental pieces. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of supporting frames 3 are erected on a base frame 2 in such a way that the central part is low and that the height increases gradually toward the end parts in the width direction. Receiving plates 4 are mounted freely oscillatably in the top end parts of the frames 3. When a metallic plate of a rectangular plate shape is placed on the frames 3, the plate deflects by gravity and assumes an arc shapes of prescribed curvature. Reinforcing ribs 8 are welded to the plate in its width direction and if necessary jigs 9 for preventing deformation thereto, whereby a segmental piece 6 is formed. The end parts in the width direction of the plural pieces 6 are butted and arranged in a cylindrical shape, then the pieces are tentatively fixed by means of wire ropes 11. Further the butt parts of the adjacent pieces 6 are welded, whereby the steel plate cell is manufactured easily.
