'[Also in Division C5] An olefin isomerisation/disporprotionation homogeneous catalyst comprises a solution of an organometal compound and a compound of W, Mo or Re which prior to the admixture of the organometal compound is in its highest valence state. The solvent may be the olefin reactant or an inert hydrocarbon or chlorinated hydrocarbon. Preferred catalyst components are EtA1C1 2 and WCl 6 , WOC1 4 WOCl 3 (OLt) or WOCl 2 (OLt) 2 . The catalyst solution must be free of any acid or other protonreleasing substance. |
