PURPOSE:To manufacture at favorable productivity a duplicate mold for precision molding having a mold fitting surface of good planar accuracy by performing smoothing of the mold fitting surface easily, by a method wherein a plated layer based on nickel alloy plating is formed on the mold fitting surface of the duplicate mold for the precision molding and the plated layer is cut. CONSTITUTION:An electrodeposited plate 2 made of nickel, for example, corresponding to a stamper is formed. Then a plated layer 3 is formed on a side turning fitting surface of the electrodeposited plate 2 by electroless nickel alloy plating or electric nickel alloy plating. Ni-P, Ni-B, Ni-B-W and Ni-Co series alloys can be mentioned as the nickel alloy. Then cutting is performed by fitting a stamper 1 having the plated layer 3 manufactured in this manner to a cutter, for example, a mirror surface processing machine of a lathe type so that the plated layers 3 is faced toward a cutting member side such as a diamond it or carbide bit. In this instance, cutting may be performed by either sticking the stamper to a smooth plate or not fitting the smooth plate especially. |
