METHOD FOR PROCESSING OMCI MESSAGE AND MANAGING QUEUE IN GPON SYSTEM AND APPARATUS THEREOF

A method for managing and processing an OMCI message transceiving queue in a GPON system and an apparatus thereof are provided to divide the priority of a control message by using a TCI(Transaction Correlation Indentifier) field within an ONT(Optical Network Terminal) management control protocol message, thereby coping with the alarm of an ONT or control requesting a prompt response quickly to manage and control the ONT. A method for managing and processing the transmission of an OMCI(Optical Network Terminal Management Channel Interface) message comprises the following steps of: generating at least one OMCI management information(S501); setting the priority of the generated OMCI management information(S502); allocating the OMCI management information to a queue set according to the priority(S503); mediating the output of the queue to output the queue in order(S504); dividing the received OMCI management information into an event, high priority, and low priority and receiving the divided OMCI management information by queue(S505); and allocating a threshold value to each queue and disusing the OMCI management information if the OMCI management information inputted to the each queue exceeds the threshold value(S506).
