<p>Process and forms for the manufacture of shaped plastic objects. Shaped objects of selected strength and elasticity may be manufactured from plastics by placing pieces of plastic tube in a mould of the preferred, shape and filling the tubes with a foam of a 2-component plastic until the mould is filled and the filling hardens. Shaped objects profiled across and lengthwise with selected strength and elasticity and with relatively small weight are obtained. The objects may be used as chair legs or arm rests, seats, plates, slabs or walls. The objects may be of light or dark colour or show a grain and do not need fuller reactant after taking for from the moulds. The moulds used are simple and may be large and awkwardly shaped. They are formed from pieces of tube will varying thickness and diameter and a mixture of two components can be widely varied. The two components form a foam and express the tubes until the mould is filled, forming a close bond with the inner walls of the hole.</p> |
