<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a device through reduction of the diameter of a sheet feed roller without lowering sheet feed performance, in a sheet feeding device to feed loaded sheets in a state to separate the sheets from each other one by one by means of the sheet feed roller and a separating means to force the sheet feed roller into a pressure contact state. CONSTITUTION:In a sheet feeding device wherein sheets 4 loaded on a loading plate 1 are delivered in a state to be separated away from each other one by one by means of a sheet feed roller 3 and a separating member energized against the sheet feed roller 3, the end part on the downstream side of the loading plate 1 is extended on the downstream side of the end part on the upper stream side of a separating member 2. Since this constitution enables a contact point between the sheet 4 and the sheet feed roller 3 to approach the separating member 2 side, sheet feed performance is prevented from reduction even when the diameter of the sheet feed roller 3 is reduced, and the sizes of the sheet feeding device and a picture forming device having the sheet feeding device can be reduced.</p> |
