PURPOSE:To secure the amount of oil supplied to a sliding surface to elinimate oil run out and prevent generation of seizing by a method wherein an oil path, whose slant angle is smaller than the same of an oil groove, is provided at a part between the sliding surfaces of a main bearing and the oil path is communicated with the oil grooves positioned on the sliding surfaces. CONSTITUTION:The sliding surfaces 22a, 22b of a main shaft 20 are formed with the oil groove 12, same as the conventional oil groove and slanted into spiral with an angle theta1 with respect to the horizontal plane. On the other hand, the peripheral surface of a part corresponding to a small diametral relief part 21 formed at an intermediate position opposing to a main bearing 6 is formed with the oil path 23, formed in the same direction as said oil groove 12 and having the smaller angle theta2 than the slant angle theta1 of the groove and the lower and the upper ends thereof are communicated respectively with the oil grooves 12a, 12a. According to such constitution, the oil retaining capacity of said relief part 21 as well as the amount of oil supplied to the upper side sliding surface 22a is improved, the oil run out is eliminated and the generation of seizing may be prevented.
