PROCESS FOR MAKING A NATURAL FOOD ADDITIVE AND A FOODSTUFF COMPOSITION CONTAINING SAME A process for making a natural food additive, useful in the preservation of foodstuffs, to which it is added, is disclosed. In this process an essential oil or resin derived from a natural balsam is hydrolyzed. A foodstuff composition comprising a foodstuff in need of preservation and food preserving effective amount of the product of the aforementioned process is also set forth. |
