<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the possibility of a container body closed with a lid being deformed due to the weight of contents accommodated inside, prevent a lid from coming off, enable retention of airtight and thermal insulation conditions, to enable of easy manufacture, and surely close the container with the lid even if the container is small-sized and has a small wall thickness. <P>SOLUTION: The container comprises a foamed synthetic resin-made container body 1 and the lid body 2. The container comprises the container body having an engagement face 11 provided partially or wholly on the upper end of the sidewall of the container body, which face 11 is partially or wholly slanted downwardly from the inner circumferential side 4 to the outer circumferential side 5 of a sidewall and the lid body comprising an engagement face 17 provided on the bottom face of the lid body, which face is partially or wholly slanted downwardly from the inner circumferential side to the outer circumferential side to be engaged with the engagement face provided on the upper end of the side wall of the container body and an approximately vertical outer surface 16 in face contact with the inner face of the sidewall of the container body.
